Diversity is becoming the context through which researchers can account for different aspects of increasingly complexifying conditions of both entrepreneurship and migration. Taking a superdiversity perspective, we are editing the Research Handbook on Entrepreneurship and Diversity (under contract with Edward Elgar). The edited book uncovers and conceptualises what is diversifying particularly in entrepreneurship. We identify three different dimensions of diversity and diversification affecting the activities of entrepreneurs at large: Diversity of Entrepreneurs, Diversity of Entrepreneurship Context and Diversity of Entrepreneurial Strategy. These three diversity dimensions of entrepreneurship are embedded in the context of the overall superdiversifying society in which diversities of minority entrepreneurs emerge and struggle to establish. By disentangling the different dimensions of diversity, this edited book contextualises debates on entrepreneurship and diversity into the larger debate on the societal turn to superdiversity.
With this call, we particularly invite papers (and possibly chapters) on the second part of the book (though not limited to), Diversity of Entrepreneurship Context, which reflect the recent turn of entrepreneurship scholarship to contextual entrepreneurship and connecting this approach to the increasing societal change to migration-led diversity. Migrant-led processes of diversification in the larger society, the main markets are diversifying, providing further opportunities to entrepreneurs, especially with regards to phenomena such as transnational migrant entrepreneurship and transnational entrepreneurship itself.
