Call for contributions; Comparative perspectives on migration, diversities and the pandemic.

Deadline abstracts: 15 July, 2020

CMS issued an open call for articles on the relation between migration and the pandemic.

We are particularly interested in articles that take a comparative approach. Prospective papers might examine the consequences of the pandemic for migrants and mobility across different regions and/or jurisdictions; compare policy responses and their effects across different cases; and consider the long-term consequences of the pandemic with regard to questions of diversity. For instance, this could include:

• comparative contributions on the consequences of policies and practices of social distancing for migrants and their mobilities;

• on the impact of, and responses to, the differential inclusion of migrants from emergency health and support programs;

• on the fundamental tension between segregation and overcrowding.

We are particularly interested in contributions with an explicit comparative orientation (between countries, regions or groups) from within and outside Europe. We also encourage papers that provide insights into how COVID-19 has impacted the present and will shape the future of migration, mobility and diversity.
